Madan Mohan Malaviya (1861–1946), an Indian educationist, political bigwig, and freedom fighter, once approached Srila Bhaktisiddhanta in the Gaudiya Math to ask a question, but Srila Bhaktisiddhanta requested him to go and ask the pujaris (officiating priests). Malaviya said it was a scholarly question that needed Srila Bhaktisiddhanta’s attention. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta insisted that he should go and ask the pujaris; so, he approached the pujaris, but the pujaris told him they were very busy, and requested him to help with cleaning of some Deity paraphernalia. He did, and later came to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta, who asked if he has gotten his answer. Malaviya said, “Yes,” but without a discussion; he got the answer automatically as he was doing the Lord’s service. All glories to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura.
